Twenty-eight years ago God called me into the ministry to serve Him. Over the years I have served in four southern states through churches and athletic ministries. I met Patsy Bass at Mobile College, now the University of Mobile, and we were married July 18, 1987. We have two teenage kids that are a blessing from God. Zach is 18 and Gracie is 14. God has called us to the wiregrass region to serve at Southside Opp. We believe that God has some wonderful days ahead for the church and the city of Opp. Join us as we build God's kingdom!
Danny Bess, Church Administrator
I was born October 6, 1949 in Andalusia, Alabama. I was born-again 1958. I graduated from Opp High School in 1968. I married Brenda Atkins August 30, 1968. We have three children Becky Anderson, Randall Bess and John Bess. We also have three grandchildren Corey & Cody Anderson and Faith Bess.I retired from Wachovia Bank in March 2006 and became church administrator for Southside in 2006. I am currently serving Southside as Deacon Chairman, Sunday School Teacher, Building and Grounds Committee Chairman, Budget Committee Chairman, Treasurer of the Covington Baptist Association in addition to church administrator.
